Purpose Tip The power of three

The number three is powerful because our minds find it appealing, so we often find it easier to remember things in threes. Since our brain loves this pattern, we should use it to our advantage. Our purpose often revolves around three core beliefs and three core lessons.

Before we start, we’ll need to have completed the exercises in the What do you believe above all else? and What have you learned? posts. So be sure to do that and give them time to rest before starting this exercise.

Action steps:

  1. From the What do you believe above all else? exercise, write down your top three beliefs.
  2. From the What have you learned? exercise, write down the top three lessons from your life.
  3. Write a statement for each of your top three beliefs (i.e., I believe we all have the right to wealth).
  4. Do your top lessons align with the beliefs?
  5. Do they have common elements that can be tied together?
  6. For each belief, how can you help others?
